Shannon Brochu
Shannon graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta with distinction in 2007 and was also the recipient of the Honourable Clinton J. Ford Moot Shield and the Joseph Paul Brumlik Scholarship for Excellence in Advocacy. As a student she worked with the Alberta Law Reform Institute as a researcher, and assisted with a number of projects, including the Rules of Court Project. While she worked at the Law Reform Institute she co-wrote an article with Sandra Petersson that was published in LAW NOW. During her last year of law school she also co-wrote a case comment with Professor Russell Brown that was subsequently published in the Alberta Law Review.
Following law school, Shannon articled and practiced as an associate with Weir Bowen LLP. In the summer of 2009, she joined Chivers Carpenter as a research lawyer and her practice is dedicated to legal research and writing.
Outside of the office, Shannon is a competitive ballroom dancer, and enjoys painting, drawing, reading and swimming when time permits.
