Marcie practices labour, employment, administrative, human rights, and constitutional law.
Before entering the legal profession, Marcie built a career in journalism, working as a radio reporter and associate producer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in four major cities. In 2021, she returned to university to pursue her long-held ambition of becoming a lawyer. During law school, Marcie earned several academic distinctions, including two advocacy awards, and won a Canadian Bar Association student essay competition for her paper promoting greater access to justice for civil litigants.
Following graduation, Marcie articled with the Department of Justice Canada in Edmonton, where she gained broad experience through rotations in general litigation, Indigenous law, tax law, and criminal law. She then clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal under Justice Shaner. Marcie joined Chivers Carpenter in 2026. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and the Tax Court of Canada.
Marcie volunteers with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, where she provides legal advice on landlord-tenant matters.
In her spare time, Marcie loves running outside and spending time with her family.
