Tyler practices labour, employment, administrative, and human rights law. In addition to his litigation practice, he represents union clients as a negotiator during the collective bargaining process.
Tyler received his Juris Doctor, with Distinction, from the University of Alberta. After law school, he clerked at the Court of King’s Bench in Edmonton. He completed his articles and practiced as an associate at a regional, full-service firm in Edmonton.
Prior to law school, Tyler studied economics at Queen’s University and then worked for several public interest organizations across the country. He has been involved in different initiatives advancing adult literacy, prison reform, employee rights and housing security.
While a proud Edmontonian, Tyler continues to be a loyal Calgary Flames fan. This is widely accepted by his colleagues and is never a point of contention. He enjoys running in the river valley and visiting the mountains.
Tyler is called to the bar in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He sits on the CBA Labour & Employment Law North Executive.
