Julie completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Lethbridge (with Distinction), where she majored in English Language and Literature and received the award for Outstanding Achievements in the Humanities for her academic standing. She then went on to complete her law degree at the University of Alberta in 2020. During her time in law school, Julie volunteered as a member of Student Legal Services, assisting low-income individuals in the Edmonton area with a variety of legal issues.

Julie joined Chivers Carpenter as an articling student in 2020 and became an associate at the firm in 2021. She practices labour, employment, and human rights law, and has been involved in several labour arbitrations, mediations, and Labour Relations Board hearings, as well as civil litigation matters in the employment context.

Outside of work, Julie is an avid downhill skier. She also loves travelling, exploring new places in Edmonton, and playing with her dogs.
