Kelsey holds a Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Alberta.

During law school, Kelsey worked as a debate coach for junior high students, provided research assistance to Alberta Justice, and volunteered for student legal services where she provided legal assistance to the low-income community. She also received a number of academic awards including the Merv Leitch Q.C. Prize, Sydney B. Woods Q.C. Memorial Prize in Constitutional Law, and Sheldon M. Chumir Memorial Essay Prize in Human Rights or Ethics in Government. In her third year, she participated in the Wilson Moot on equality rights where her team finished second overall and first place for factums. She also completed a clerkship course with the Alberta Court of Justice.

Kelsey joined Chivers Carpenter as an associate in 2024. She practices labour, employment and human rights law.

Prior to joining Chivers Carpenter, Kelsey articled with Alberta Justice, gaining experience in a wide variety of areas including civil litigation, criminal law, environmental law, constitutional law and administrative law. Following her articling year, she was hired as a Crown Prosecutor and built her advocacy skills through appearing regularly in the Alberta Court of Justice and occasionally in the Alberta Court of King’s Bench.

In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys travelling, skiing, climbing and hiking.
