Madam Justice Kristan McLeod became the firm’s Managing Partner following Madam Justice Ritu Kuhllar’s appointment to the Alberta Court of King’s Bench. Kristan was thereafter appointed to the Alberta Court of King’s Bench in 2025.
Her diverse practice led her to advocate before the provincial and federal courts, labour boards, the Occupational Health and Safety Appeals Board, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, professional regulatory boards, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to practicing law, she held a similarly diverse professional life as a business analyst, trainer, technical writer, arts marketer, and shutdown crew member. She also acted as the independent chairperson presiding over inmates’ disciplinary hearings in federal corrections for several years.
